Standards.
Live up to your own.
Standards helps you give your word, answer honestly, and build a record of whether you lived up to it.
It is not a habit tracker, not a task manager, and not a streak app. There is nothing to maintain and nothing to lose.
The loop. Four steps, and then again.
- One
Give your word
Write down something you said you would do, in your own words. Standards stores them exactly as you wrote them.
- Two
Live with it
Nothing nags and nothing expires. A word you have not answered stays unanswered until you answer it — the app never decides for you.
- Three
Answer honestly
Kept, or not kept. The two answers are offered identically, because the app is asking for the truth and cannot lean on one of them.
- Four
Your Record builds
Every answer becomes evidence, and the evidence accumulates. A missed word takes nothing away — there is no streak to break, no score to lower, and nothing to reset.
What you write stays on your phone.
Standards has no account, no sign-in and no server of its own. Your commitments, your answers and your Record are written to your device and are not uploaded anywhere. The developer has no way to read them.
- No advertising. None in the app, and no advertising software in it.
- No cross-app tracking. No advertising identifier, and nothing that follows you between apps or websites.
- No session replay. Nothing records or reconstructs what is on your screen.
- No analytics today. The app currently contains no analytics software and records nothing about what you do in it.
- Subscriptions are handled by Apple. The developer never sees your payment details or your Apple Account.
- Reminders are local. Your device schedules them and your device delivers them. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Two things are worth stating precisely rather than in a slogan. Standards has crash reporting built into it, so that faults can be found and fixed — but it is not switched on in the app as it stands, and while it is off the app sends no diagnostics at all. Limited product analytics has been approved in principle and is not built: there is no analytics software in the app, no identifier for it and no event.
Neither will ever carry a word you wrote. When either changes, the privacy policy will say so before the change ships, not after.
Standards for iPhone.
Standards is being prepared for the App Store. There is no download link yet, and there will not be a fake one here.
